Plus I am a Team USA fan counsel of course the company of Team USA doesn't bully anyone with or with out ADA of all races yearly. How many would like for Nike shoe company, and Dick's sporting goods locations nationwide to value anyone yearly, and their employees, and management team to be retrained, or leaving law enforcement cops alone plus in fact law makers of congress, and senators hate Nike shoe company, and of Dick's sporting goods company of their locations nationwide being bad threats or bias or being greedy with wanting only funds not good for both USA companies to taken advantage or to treat anyone badly per year round. I've been wanting to work with both USA companies since 2016 to 2022 been discriminated against both USA companies even as being their customer, and all thee above don't want anyone else to be treated badly too nationwide. Plus they even say whomever can't handle their job functions or all thee above won't be allowed to work at their stores nationwide of both companies. So do they accommodate anyone with ADA no not at all how so because they even don't let whomever is a job coach that teaches whomever with ADA of what the job functions are for both USA companies so are both companies bias, and treat whomever with ADA badly even take advantage even bully even causes whomever with ADA discrimination ya they do so who wants to shop or work for these two USA companies. Terrible Customer Service
November 5, 2021

I purchased a basketball hoop at the Grafton, WI location back on September 22,2021. I purchased the hoop and the installation. I understood the fact that it wasn't going to be installed next day and that there would be a wait. I was told I would receive an email with instructions on how to proceed with the installation. I received the email a day later and followed the instructions in the email to get the process started. I thought this was going faster than expected because two days later, there was a truck outside checking my lot at my home for underground wires, gas lines, etc. I got the "all clear" for the location I wanted my hoop. I received a call about 2 additional days later to schedule a day to have the footing dug and anchors put in place. They were going to be at my house on October 4th. As it turned out, there was rain the week before, so I got a call letting me know they had to reschedule due to the weather and the ground was going to be too soft to dig the hole. I asked if I was going to be moved to the bottom of the list and have to wait another 2 weeks to have them come out. I was assured that I would be at the top of the list and they would come out at the end of the week (approx. Oct 7th or 8th). I never heard from anyone until Wednesday October 20,2021. At that time they told me my work order was schedule for October 29th (this was unacceptable since I was told the work was to be done 3 weeks earlier). I was so frustrated with Dick's by this time and couldn't understand how this company stays in business with such poor customer service. October 29th came and went, no one shows up, but got a call telling me they would be at the house on Monday (November 1st)... I take the day off and they don't show up. I did get a call late in the day telling me that my work was scheduled for Nov 2nd. You guessed it, they didn't show up then either. They finally did show up on Nov. 4th, with no advance notification. Fortunately, the subcontractor hired to do the work called me and we were able to work it out without me being home. I wish I could write a positive review for this crew, but I don't know who that was. Dick's on the other hand was terrible from the minute after I left the store after paying them for my basketball hoop. I don't know that I will ever shop at Dick's Sporting Goods again. They were quick to take my money, but dropped the ball once it changed hands.

Tip for consumers:

Do not shop at Dick's

Products used:

Basketball hoop...but haven't been able to use it yet. Still not installed

A frustrating order at Dick's Sporting Goods
December 18, 2020

Yesterday I had (another) issue with trying to buy something at Dick's Sporting Goods via their website and scheduled for an instore pick-up at the Short Pump, VA store. Below is a paraphrased version of the issues I encountered. I sent a letter to the President (Lauren Hobart) of Dick's yesterday... it seems they are much faster at charging your credit card than acknowledging a customer issue, because I never got a reply from anybody at the company! I am leaving Dick's Sporting Goods and going to other sport stores for my sporting equipment and apparel needs.

I had a $40 gift coupon to use for being a Scorecard member. So, I went on-line and found 2 items that I purchased. One was Bombas Women's Running socks and the other was a 2-pack CALIA Women's Running Socks. I bought 2 of the Bombas and 1 of the CALIA socks for a total price of $44.24. I applied my $40 gift coupon and charged the remaining $4.24 to a credit card. The order was to be picked up in the Short Pump, VA store (I believe store 128). About 45 minutes after I placed the order, I received an email notification telling me that the CALIA socks are not available and that the item was cancelled but I was not yet billed for it. The next email indicated that my order subtotal was $32.00 for the Bombas socks (which is correct) and $29.09 Rewards has been applied to my order and the remaining $3.08 was charged to my credit card. Here are the issues that I see thus far: First, their website showed the CALIA socks in-stock, but then the store decided to cancel them (maybe the inventory count was wrong or the employee couldn't find them). This is frustrating because in my mind, the product should not have been an available item on their website. Second, if my total was $32.17 (which included tax), then why wasn't my $40 gift coupon used instead of rewards points and the balance being charged to my credit card? Again, an issue that should not have happened, which is frustrating for a customer.

So, to get my $40 gift coupon reinstated, I enlisted the help of their CHAT line and spoke with Anna. Note, that Anna tried to be as helpful as possible. She was extremely professional and very polite and empathized with my situation. HOWEVER, I left our conversation a bit confused. During our chat conversation I made the statement that I have been shifting away from Dick's Sporting Goods and buying my sporting gear and apparel from Amazon. I guess that doesn't matter, because I never saw any ears perk up when I communicated this. Moving to Amazon or others pains me because I have been a loyal Dick's Sporting Goods Customer for such a long time. Anyway, this ended up being my last point of frustration. So do you blame me for taking my purchases to Amazon?

Again, I never heard anything else back from the store or the President. I hope they are able to turn around their customer service scores... just GOOGLE Dick's Sporting Goods reviews; they get what they deserve.

Anti-American Anti-Constitutional Owner
October 7, 2019

I just listened to an interview with the owner of Dick's and I have to say, this man proclaims to be Pro-Constitutional, Pro-American but has given in to the radical anti 2nd Amendment politicians who want to ban firearms.
This man is removing firearms from his stores all across our country thinking that he is going to make a difference in violent crimes in America.
He has Never been further from the truth about this subject and is acting like COWARD! The only thing he is doing is inflicting damage on his chain as Country Loving Legal Law Abiding Citizens are NOT taking kindly to his arrogant Stupidity. I, for one, will NEVER shop in his stores again, I will NEVER step foot inside of his stores again for any reason! I will do without if his stores are the only ones in America who would stock whatever I could need! It is NOT worth it to me to patronize an Anti-American outfit who are nothing but COWARDS!
Criminals and the mentally unstable are the ones who are committing such violent crimes and they represent less than 3 percent of our entire nation but yet, this man thinks the way the anti-2nd Amendment people think, that firearms, RIFLES are "Assault style weapons" which has NEVER BEEN FURTHER FROM THE TRUTH! The are SEMI-AUTOMATIC RIFLES ONLY but look frightening to the uneducated so therefore, the uneducated classify them as "Assault Weapons" when in reality, they know absolutely NOTHING about firearms classifications! They know NOTHING about what it takes to qualify a firearm as an "Assault Weapon" nor do they understand that ANYTHING ON THIS PLANET that is used as such is an "Assault Weapon", PERIOD! More people are killed with various artifacts Other than firearms but yet, firearms are the focus of attention as we know very well what this is all about which is the left's reasons for disarming ALL LEGAL LAW ABIDING CITIZENS! If they would exert as much time getting the criminals off our streets, out of our communities, violent crimes would virtually disappear overnight due to the pressures being imposed upon the criminal element, and, criminals would finally come to the realization that we have had enough of their activities and will NOT put up with any more of them!
The owner of Dick's is falling into lockstep with such criminals by denying access to firearms causing customers to do their shopping elsewhere. So far, Dick's has lost a quarter of a million dollars nearly overnight for his decision and stands to lose a great deal more! In the end, I sincerely hopes that he loses so much that it literally puts him out of business! We do NOT need Cowards in our country trying to effect more anti-Constitutional actions in our government, especially those who want to trash our Constitutional Rights!
So, to Dick's Sporting chain and focusing on it's owner, GFY!

Misleading / Poor policies
December 16, 2017

Sophia S: Thank you for contacting Dick's Sporting Goods. How may I be of assistance?
Bill: considering getting a golf club fitting for my son as a gift
Bill: wondering how the best and most economical way is to do that
Bill: he will also be getting a full set of clubs as a gift but that will happen after the fitting
Bill: how can i make this happen
Sophia S: I will be more than happy to assist you.
Bill: i see that you offer free fittings with the purchase of a set of clubs
Sophia S: Will you be purchasing the golf clubs form our website?
Bill: obviously will not purchase the clubs until after the fitting
Bill: either on web or in store
Sophia S: The best way would be to have a fitting done at a local store.
Bill: will a credit be issued for the fitting fees when we purchase the clubs
Bill: yes, fitting would be at the store
Bill: would/should I pay for thr fitting and then get a credit later
Sophia S: Unfortunately, we can not issue a credit for the fitting fee if the fitting fees.
Bill: when the clubs are purchased
Bill: what
Sophia S: Sorry.
Sophia S: I meant, We can not credit the fitting fees after the purchase.
Bill: that makes no sense
Bill: you are saying the clubs need to be purchase THEN have a fitting
Bill: What is the purpose of the fitting
Bill: putting the cart before the horse
Bill: does that make sense to you
Sophia S: If you wish you can go to the store and have the fitting done and then make the purchase.
Bill: and not get the discount... right
Sophia S: You can ask the store representative if it is possible to honor the discount.
Bill: just forget it. This policy makes no sense. A fitting is to help you decide which clubs to purchase and any discounts should be honored for the entire package
Bill: i will just go elsewhere
Sophia S: I am very sorry for the inconvenience caused.
Sophia S: Is there anything else I can assist you with today?
Bill: plese send this chat to me via email
Bill: I am going to post it on social media
Sophia S: I do not have the option to send a chat via email.
Bill: are you saying you can not send me a copy of this chat
Bill: If not I will just make my own copy
Sophia S: I do not have the option to send a chat via email.
Sophia S: Is there anything else I can assist you with today?
Bill: i believe everyone considering a purchase should be FULLY aware of this policy
Bill: done
Sophia S: Thank you for contacting Dick's Sporting Goods, Bill. Have a great day!
Sophia S has disconnected.

Horrible and unbelievable, never again!
February 3, 2017

I recently ordered a North Face down jacket from Dick's online. Dicks shows 2 colors and a variety of sizes in stock on their website. The site let me order one, even pre authorized my C. C. After waiting a day and a half for a confirmation e mail with a tracking number, it finally arrived in my inbox and the status of the shipment was "processing" and an estimated expedited arrival date was 2/3/2017. I had ordered it at 11 AM on 2/1, and the e mail with an order number/est arrival date arrived 2/2/17.
The order was canceled online with no explanation, or e mail notification as to why it was canceled. After calling cust service, seems they have NONE in inventory, NONE! No sizes, No colors. I waited for a month for these jackets to go on sale, and on the morning of 2/1/17, the discount first appeared on the website. I ordered immediately before they were all gone.

On 2/2/17, WITHOUT any explanation, the order status went to " canceled". Seems as if Dick's never had ANY jackets, but were still selling them on their website, irregardless of the inventory in stock. I went to the Dick's site several times today and they are STILL selling them and pre authorizing credit cards even though they have no stock.

I called customer "no service" and was told that they had 19 blue jackets on 2/2/17, but had sold out. I asked why if I had ordered mine 2/1/17 at 1100AM, why was my order not honored before the others that ordered after me. I was then told by a supervisor that there was actually never any coat's at all. They were all soooooooo sorry for the mix-up, however; the manager was stone cold and offered no explanation. He also allowed things to continue as usual on their site with NO inventory in stock, and due to the season ending, very little chance of getting any more. Talk about false advertising.

I did order several jackets in the aftermath of this unbelievable incident. One was for a bomber blue XL (for my dad) from Rocky Mountain Ski and Board for way cheaper than the Dick's price, and there was a price reduction at Sunny Sports. Com for $227.95 (zinc grey for me). Dick's wanted $349.00 per jacket. I immediately got confirmation e mails from both companies. Several hours after those orders got tracking numbers (in those e mails), I went to both sites and the XL and XXL jackets I had ordered were pulled from the "in stock" to "not available". I guess I got the last jackets in those 2 sizes/colors, and the sites IMMEDIATELY shut those sizes down. Not Dick's. You can still buy one by ordering from the Dick's site and have your CC reimbursed and all the apologies I am getting. If you don't believe, go to the Dick's site and order a bomber blur or a TNF Black color. The site shows 3 sizes available in blue, and 3 sizes in black available.

You would think that as big as Dick's is, they could do a whole lot better than the smaller company/sites I had to order from, especially with the online technology that is available. They have mostly ratings of a 1 out of 5 on the review/social media sites, and this review certainly won't help them at all. Move over Sports Authority, make room for Dick's, they will certainly be next for bankruptcy proceedings.

Terrible Technician/ Excellent Manager
July 1, 2016

My seven-year-old son saved his own money to buy himself a new bike. After much shopping around, his heart was set on one we found at Dick's (Hillsboro, Oregon). I was a little nervous about buying from here but hoped that all would work out for him.

Less than a week later, his seat was loose. We repeatedly tightened it, but it would not stay in place. Worried about his safety and frustrated to be having trouble so soon we took the bike back to the store to see what could be done. We checked in at the check out area on our way in the store, and the friendly cashier sent us back to the bike department saying that they "would fix it up" for us.
Getting to the bike service department we met with the bike technician. He looked at it and complained about the type of bracket used to hold the seat. He tightened it the same way that I had repeatedly done over the last week. I explained to him that it wouldn't work. His answer was to try to sell me a new bracket for $20 that we would have to order and wait for. I repeated that the bike was a week old and that this was not acceptable. He said that if we had purchased the protection plan he would have "done his best to get it covered," I let him know that we had purchased a bike from another store last week and that my older son had fallen and broken his brake line, it was fixed without question and without purchase of a protection plan. I asked about any warranty information that he could help me with and he said I could contact the company and that I really should have bought the protection plan. He also assured me that I would not find a "better bike repair technician anywhere."

Frustrated, I was ready to just leave the store, contact the bike company and never shop at Dick's again. However, the friendly cashiers checked in on with us on our way out to see if we were taken care of and I decided to ask for a manager.
When the manager came out to help us he had several ideas. He considered a new seat, but that would have been held on by the faulty bracket. So he took the entire bracket apart to see what was causing it to loosen. After working on it sometimes teaching the bike technician that was helping us previously, he figured out the problem. Although, he thought he had it fixed he instead pulled a new seat with a bracket off of the same model of bike on the floor and sent us home with that saying that he would contact the bike company and deal with the defective seat. He also let us know to come in if we had any trouble with the new seat.

I don't like to write negative reviews, but this is...
January 8, 2013

I don't like to write negative reviews, but this is the worst experience I've ever had. I've been misinformed, misled, and taken advantage of to the tune of $495... for attempting to use a $100 gift card. I wouldn't give it even one star, but I had to in order to post the review.

I got a $100 gift card to Dick's Sporting Goods as a Christmas gift and used it online to purchase a jacket for $142. When I put the gift card information in, it said that it could not be found. I tried a few times (not clicking "back" or refreshing), and it eventually went through. My credit card should've been charged $42; however, the full $142 went on my credit card. Since I had trouble with the gift card, I wanted to call and make sure that it was used. The first person I spoke to told me that the gift card hadn't been used and that I would have to call the store because he couldn't even find my gift card number. He cancelled my order.

I called the store that I thought the gift card came from. They did not have the jacket in stock and "did not have time for me." I spoke with the manager (This is the Collegeville, PA location--avoid at all costs) who has extremely rude and told me that if he fixed my problem he would essentially lose his job so he'll have to make some calls.

I called another store and they told me that the gift card had been spent on a jacket. That was the order that was cancelled! I tried to explain that the order was cancelled, but they said that there was nothing I could do. Then, the Collegeville, PA manager called back to tell me that the gift card had been spent--old news at this point, but he also told me that I would have to buy the jacket online, bring it to the store, return it, and buy it with the gift card. I explained that that's really not possible for me--if it was, I would've purchased it in the store and not online in the first place, but he again told me that he would lose his job if he helped me. He told me to call the online customer service.

I called online customer service and explained my problem. The person hung up on me without any reply. Oddly enough, when I called back thinking it was a mistake, I got the SAME PERSON. I said, "Hi, my name is Ashley, we got disconnected." He said, "Oh, ok" and hung up on me again. I finally got in touch with someone who wouldn't hang up on me, and they said that they would put my order for the jacket in right away and would give me free expedited shipping. He said that it would appear that my card was charged $176, but that he would immediately credit $32 for free shipping and $100 for my gift card.

I checked my bank account two days later, and there was still a charge for $142 and a charge for $176, but no credits. I called and was told that the first credit was processed and would take 3-5 business days to show up on my account. I was then told that the person who took my order merely put in a request for a $100 credit on my account for the gift card, and that it would take 3-5 business days to process the request and 7-10 business days for the request to be processed. I asked to speak to a supervisor and they put in a request. This is now technically my second request to speak to a supervisor. I asked to hold for a supervisor, but none were available. I checked my bank account and found that there were now TWO charges for $176 and a charge for $142. I am, of course, baffled and upset.

I called my bank account, who told me that they could remove the duplicate charge because it's obviously wrong. They were as baffled as I was at my experience and the reckless use of my bank account information to put extraneous holds on my account. My representative told me that I could formally dispute the charges if Dick's Sporting Goods turns in any receipts to my bank, and that they would launch an investigation immediately.

The next day, the only charge left on my account was $142--the amount for the cancelled order, but also the amount after crediting for shipping. I figured that they had credited the shipping and called for the status of the credit on the gift card. I was told that there would be no credit on the gift card; rather, they would re-load my gift card with $100. I made it very clear that I was told I would be getting a credit, and that I want absolutely nothing that would force me to purchase anything through Dick's Sporting Goods. I was put on hold to speak with a supervisor and then was told after a few minutes that they're so busy and can't talk to me. I repeated my case, stated that I would return the jacket and formally dispute the charges, and that I would hold for a supervisor. I was put on hold for a total of 20 minutes, during which time no supervisor was available. She said that they would put $100 on my credit card after I held, and that it would happen by sometime next week. I'm waiting still, we'll see what happens. Seriously, don't do any business with Dick's Sporting Goods. They're awful.

Update: Another week has gone by, and I was just told that nothing has been done on my account, and that yet another customer service agent didn't have any record of my complaints. We've started the "request" process again to get the money back on my credit card... but they didn't have any trouble de-valuing my gift card last week after my 6th call. I've now been on the phone with Dick's Sporting Goods over 10 times for a cumulative total of 2h 50min, and we're apparently starting the refund process over again after I was told that I would get the refund by yesterday.
