The 1904 Cambridge Springs International chess tournament inspired this reproduction chess set. Very well crafted in ebony and boxwood, the knight distinguishes itself from other typical equestrian figures. Some may call it a Llama, others say a laughing horse. Either way, it's quite enjoyable and notably unique amongst most other chess knights. Along with comments from my friends regarding the knight, some also remarked on the hefty weight of the ebony pieces (measured at 17% more than the boxwood counterparts). An elegant set with early 20th century styling, and a nice addition to my collection.

Most of the chess pieces I received are painted off and even the bright colored king is painted with a noticeable red indelible dot.

You included an envoice for US$580 dollars and I have to pay high duty taxes in Dominican Republic. My purchase was for US$224.
Taxes is higher then this price!

The purchase process was easy and importantly, the sales team on the What's App chat were responsive and happy to answer questions that I asked about quality assurance and checking pieces before packing and shipment. This was reassuring. So I finalised the transaction.
Five working days, eights days in total the pieces landed in my door step in Melbourne Australia. 👍
Initially I was a tad worried. The cardboard packaging was dented from being dropped in transit and customs had inspected the package … sometimes that can point to broken or scratched pieces. I need not have worried. The pieces were perfect… and that knight … it's actually glorious - beautiful. Quaint but somehow regal on its stand … my concern in photos became a highlight when in my hand.
While one of the more expensive sets that I have purchased - it is wonderful and I'm stoked.

I searched the internet and free shipping sold me.
My pieces arrived a day earlier than scheduled, I was provided all tracking information and kept updated. Once I opened the box the pieces were beautiful. They look and feel great!

I had these items in my bookmarks for several years. Finally decided to give myself an Xmas gift. Couldn't be more pleased. Board and pieces are beautiful. Pieces have that heft that is comforting to the hand and a dull thud as you place them on the board...provides a tactile and auditory sensation along with the visual beauty. Ordering was easy, shipping was quick - really, I got these faster than some of my stateside purchases. Packing was excellent. Even better was the Holiday discount that made my purchase more affordable. All around just a great purchase.

This is my second purchase and wont be my last. The chessmen are amazing and look great on my analysis board. The hand carved pieces add such a beautiful accent that turns heads at the coffee shop. Thanks Royal Chess Mall for such excellently carved pieces.

This set is beautiful and good for analysis. I can't see any imperfections. I'm just upset that I can't use my rewards on top of the offered discounts unlike in chessbazzar where you can use both. I hope they can offer both discounts so it may be more affordable for the consumers.

The designed lenght of the handles are completely useless as they are much too long making it impossible to carry the bag via the handles as the bag touches the ground constantly if you walk with the transport bag using the handles!

Therefore the transport bag is useless to walk with carrying your (my) expensive chessboard by the handles of the bag because if one does so it will ruin both the bag and chessboard inside the bag!

Great disappointment for me this purchase!

After looking through all the staunton sets. I kept coming back to this one. The preportions are just perfect. The detail is so crisp. Each piece is weighted perfectly. Craftsmanship of the highest quality. I bought these knowing they won't fit on the board I just made. I'll just have to make another the squares are 45mm and 7mm thick. Need to make a board 55mm or 60mm squares. I'll treasure this set forever. It's the best set in my collection.

The Knight is really carved to perfect reproduction as shown in Bobby Fischer's video clips of his Dubrovnik chess pieces. Excellent reproduction! Fast delivery and well protected package!

I received a damaged item, emailed as instructed with details. No one has got back to me. Customer service phone line does not have the option to leave a message.

I have sent two emails with no response, so I will share this here.

I have received my order yesterday afternoon and have opened it finding many beautiful pieces in the chess set I purchased.

However, upon unwrapping all the pieces there were three pieces found broken.

The dark king whose head and crown have a large chip and crack and were not attached:

A dark knight whose mane has a section missing:

And a dark bishop which has an entire loop gone:

I accept I ordered a "slightly imperfect" chess set and many other pieces have imperfections and blemishes.

However these three are broken.

They need to be replaced.

How do we proceed?

I would hope to continue doing business with you in the future provided I receive a replacement dark king, dark bishop, and dark knight for the 4.5" Carvers' Art Luxury Chess Pieces Only Set - Triple Weighted Bud Rosewood.

I am in love with my historical reproduction of 1849 Staunton pattern chessmen. As an important note, I purchased this chess set in camel bone which is meant to replicate the feel and texture of Ivory.
The chess pieces are masterfully carved with the knight being the star of the show. The knight although is meant to be a reproduction of the Nathaniel cook design, but if looked closely, it would resemble more to the Staunton designs of 1850's and onwards.
I ordered and received my chess pieces in 3 days from delivery via DHL Express to the UK which is lighting quick service.

It is a remarkably beautiful chess set. It looks splendid and feels smooth to the touch, finely polished. The craftsmanship is elegant, being handmade, and the minor imperfections add to its uniqueness.
I requested specific requirements from the sellers for packaging and shipping, as it was an international delivery, and I wanted to ensure its condition. They complied with my request, and I would definitely purchase another set.

Excellent price to craftsmanship ratio. The padauk wood is beautiful. Very minor flaws but expected when hand made. Accurate when described as triple weighted, they feel great to move around the board. I've read certain cuts of padauk can develop white oil "dust" over time but so far my pieces are as they were on arrival. I might pick up a nice little analysis board from here for my desk too!

I had never purchased anything from this company before, but I took a chance on the Artisan Zagreb chess men and was not disappointed. I think the King is about 3 3/4" tall, the bases are a little wider than other sets I have, and they fit my 19" board perfectly. My board is black with pale-mahogany squares, and the Zagreb pieces look absolutely stunning on it! I was hoping they would come in a case, which they don't, but they were well protected for shipping as each piece was individually wrapped in packing and put in a sturdy box. I personally felt that they were worth the money, and this set is easily the nicest one that I now own.
