Very well. We will give you an answer to your question over the course of several pages, often just to complete one sentence, so that on each page we can load up 20 banner ads above, below, and to the sides.
Yes this will lag like crazy and very likely freeze up your browser, but meh... some jackasses are paying us obscene amounts of money to throw these ads in your face.
Maybe instead of telling us how crappy a site we are you ought to boycott every business that advertises with us. THAT might teach us, and those businesses, a lesson once and for all.
This site is awful. When you want one simple sentence to answer a question, instead you get spammed with ads all over the screen, and it has like 15 dumb slides just to say one or two sentences. Very inconvenient. And almost every time I try to use it, it just freezes up and crashes. Never use this. Use ANY website but this.
Pretty simple review,
Asked question,
Paid for question all ok,
Unsubscribed
Then charged anyway,
Full refund from paypal not after spending a lot of time on the issue. Enjoy the jpg
Most concerning was the incorrect charge after unsubscribing.
Their system appears to be automated and the lack of follow-through cancelation request appears to be either a result of bad billing procedures or intentional misuse of billing information.
So would avoid,
Probably could have spent the time researching the question in google or a library, but that isn't the point.
I counted. There were 5 ads without me not even having to scroll down. This does NOT include the 4 that popped up in an ad that blocked the entire screen! Awful! When I finally clicked out of the screen, it wasn't even the right question displayed!
Covered my daughter's Chromebook screen with ads--so many that she had to ask for help. The CLOSE button on the ads took us to an ad for Country Inns and Suites. I wonder if the Carlson Group, which owns that hotel, agreed to such a smarmy bait and switch. Makes me not want to stay there, that's for certain!
Site doesn't send email verification - despite several attempts to resend for it. When you then try to reset your password, it'll then say it cannot, because your email already exists. That's crook city.
Nothing but false information. And you can't even contact them to clarify a story Complete waste of time and data., I have a picture that can prove one of their stories false but there's no way to upload it or even contact anyone that tells you it's false
Looking for an answer for one of your queries? If yes then I would suggest you visiting answers.com. They are a top-25 com-score site and offer one-stop solutions for integrated media across mobile, social and the desktop. It is human nature to ask questions on different topics on a regular basis. This website is visited regularly by 75,000 people who actively ask, answer, learn and share their knowledge on varied subjects. Not much to say really, just a total money spinner, no intention of providing any sort of useful content, just as many advertising refreshes per user visit as possible to get their revenue up. Site runs like an absolute dog too, no idea how they manage it on modern browsers with the recent boom in browser frameworks and JavaScript performance.
They should be shot.
My problem with this website is navigating through all the pop-up and advertisements on their page. Man it was horrible. I just went back to google and googled my request... lol. No one has time for that many advertisements!
Horrible user experience. It's a shame that the sometimes interesting content is embedded in such absolute garbage design. Especially detest that they spread one image literally across three pages by changing just the caption. So for 10 images they harvest 30+ page views. Of course the load time is horrendous. Navigation is like trying to find the light switch in the dark. Love how they place advertisements in close proximity to the content with fake navigation arrows to bait you into accidentally clicking the ad. Come on, really? If Ray Charles designed websites, they would look like Answers.com.
Interesting stuff. Lots of 1-star ratings. Then there are the folks at the bottom of the list who obviously work for answers.com.
In addition to being the slowest site I've ever seen, there's also the fact that, in my experience, not many of their answers survive the scrutiny of subject matter experts. As far as I can tell, it seems that a lot of their stuff is just made up.
I also agree with a couple of the other reviewers in that if their advertisers were reading these reviews (or otherwise paying attention), they'd soon realize that their advertising dollars are lining the pockets of some truly inept people.
Informational website? Not likely. Terrible platform for bad ads, delivered in a completely ineffective way? Bingo!
So here i am scrolling along Facebook on my lunch break and I see "(insert some title that interests you here)" I say oh wow I wonder if this article is going to answer my questions about life, love and the pursuit of happiness but then it turns into a crash course for disaster! Before you know it commercials are singing at you and you've clicked threw 23 and 1/2 pages only to realize... They got you. They put a pic or headline you like to only mention that topic once on one page out of 717... Why spread info you can easily fit on one page over 6 pages! And stop with all the ads it's awful! I went threw 17 pages to then not be able to move on due to ads! Now I'm pissed and I still don't know what the most iconic restaurant in my state is!
I might rate answers.com as high as a 4 if I were actually able to view their content - they have may lists that are interesting enough to attract my attention. However, after repeatedly getting sucked in by headlines such as "13 actors who are box office poison" and being unable to get past the first slide without the site locking up, I now avoid this site. It is very unresponsive and burdened by advertisements - a total waste of time! Worst site I have ever visited!
Answer.com is worthless... No question just a complaint. Takes on average of 10 minutes to load each of their pages even with high speed broad band!
You have a product that people want to see. But the service is worse than the old school 14 kb dial up modems.
Their headlines are tempting but it takes forever to read through an article, assuming you don't get thrown out altogether! It's guaranteed to freeze or crash and a complete waste of time - it should be removed or improved!
Don't bother looking at a story from these douche buckets. 1 sentence per page and it's all bs anyways. Have to click through 40 pages before you finally start getting to the story line. I will be blocking this terrible website from my life. Maybe people would read some crap on here if it was all on 1 or 2 pages instead of stretching a small paragraph into ******* pages. For now I d ok nt even bother going on a story if it is associated with this garbage company
A great idea to hook you with an interesting tag then get you to look at 30 pages to find that the tag was less interesting than you could possible fathom.
They sell their site to advertisers on the basis of the number of pages "looked at".
However interesting an article potentially looks I AVOID if an Answers.com site but they are too clever for that and realise how many people like me will be making the same decisions. Now they advertise the article as coming from a different site so I'm still forced to accidentally down-load page one before quickly exiting.
Utter contemptible garbage (but a cracking business model!)
Absolute trash; the slide format of the answers is infuriating and adds minutes to a process that should really only take seconds. This is obviously done to maximize the amount of ads the site owners can fit on their wretched website. It's too bad there isn't an option for zero stars!
Terrible terrible terrible website. The 4 and 5 star reviews here could only have come from employees of the site. They should all be ashamed, and probably are. Can we petition to get this site shut down? I've never felt like so much time, effort, and money are being wasted than I have when trying to navigate Answers.com.
Here's an answer: Stop.
Answer: Same I dint get an awnser
Answer: The content is meaningless fluff, so don't worry about reading any articles from Answers.com as their site has anything but answers. It's a clicklbait site designed to draw the curious in and lock their computers so they stare at the ads waiting indeterminable amounts of time for the next slide to load. Stay away, it's a trap.
Answers has a rating of 1.4 stars from 188 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Answers most frequently mention many ads, interesting topics and next page. Answers ranks 77th among Question And Answer sites.
