I booked 5 rooms, but was charged for 9 rooms. After being told it was just a 24 hr. Hold, I was hung up on 3 times with customer service. The hotel was pleasant, clean and staff was polite and courteous but the reservation process was unclear, unorganized and very unaccommodating!
I booked a hotel to coincide with a jazz festival and my 32nd wedding anniversary. Unfortunate my nephew passed form cancer. The funeral is being held during the time I booked the vacation. The small print on the reservation said NO REFUND. I had no luck with Affirm who paid the amt in full. Finally, when i reached out to geta room, I was treated with compassion and respect and within 24 hours Affirm received a refund and I am no longer on the hook for this. They did what affirm did not do in a week in 24hrs, Affirm even asked me to send in a copy of the obituary! When I called the next day, they said they did not ask for it. GETAROOM solved my problem. I had an issue but I could not figure out and didn't understand what was going on. After leaving a review, the customer service representative called me and walk me through why things happen the way they did and also listen to to my concerns, and very promptly came up with a solution. Based off of the customer service she provided I most definitely recommend this company.

After many requests they finally (and pretty quickly) reimburse the extra 36 euro.
Very fast and effective customer service.
Total to pay not at all clear!
I would say comparable to scam.
They attract with a price (in my case 62 euros) and then they add the taxes during the payment phase, in my case 36 euros (I didn't see the full total until I received confirmation from the credit card).
So I paid 98 instead of 62 as declared when booking.
I immediately wrote to customer service to cancel the reservation, but the response was non-refundable.
If the additional taxes were declared somewhere, it was written in tiny, hidden letters. Be wary!

Everything about this reservation was super easy. Click, click done. Less than 5 minutes. I was able to select all the important info needed, enter my card information and, voila! No phone time necessary.
True test of an organisation's customer service is how they respond to a concern. In this respect GetARoom have been excellent and my query was dealt with quickly and efficiently. Good price for the room as well

Great room with an awesome view of downtown Wilmington. Very friendly service too. Convenient to historic downtown Wilmington attractions including the St. Paddy's Day parade. This was a wonderful weekend getaway!
I have used getaroom.com on most of our recent trip to central Europe and have made at least 8 bookings for different cities and was very pleased with the outcome. We did not have any issues at all when we arrived to these hotels. My advised to anyone who will be using this site is make sure that you take a copy of your bookings as the hotel asked for verification. I found that if you ring them (getaroom) and talk to their customer representatives, they can quote you better and cheaper pricing. I generally had a pleasant experienced dealing with them and will likely use it again.
A few months ago, my friend and I planned a weekend getaway to San Fran and sought last minute deals on hotel rooms. We found a deal for under $100 on Kayak, which in turn redirected us to the getaroom site. After seeing the $25 rebate graphic and other info on unpublished rates, we figured we could get a better deal over the phone -- and that we did.
The call center agent was friendly and answered all our questions. I have no complaints and overall I enjoyed booking through them. It's too bad that others who have reviewed the company before me have experienced otherwise.
Answer: They are not ethical. For me, they used a website that appeared to be the actual hotel website, did not identify themselves when they should have, and did not mention booking fees while they charged a 30 percent booking fee for a room that was its normal price. They were supposed to cancel charges on my credit card and did not. STAY AWAY!
Answer: They are a site attached to Trip Advisor---- if you see them on screen while trying to book a room-- hit cancel. I'm out over $150 because of their fraudulent cancellation policy.
Answer: Thought I was booking on the actual hotel sight but was deceived in as much as it was Getaroom. Talked to someone else also staying at this hotel at the same for about a third less. Called them right back and had already charged my card and it would be up to 3 weeks to refund. That's about what it took but did get refund. Then checked reviews and no one had anything good to say about getaroom. Go straight to hotel sight of one you know and trust or stick with something like Travelocity.
Answer: I'm definitely in. There's something very deceptive, if not illegal, when you start off on a hotel's website and when you click Make a Reservation, it somehow transfers you to the GetARoom site without your knowledge. I had no idea this was done until I received their email confirmation. I'm thinking of contacting my state's Consumer Protection Div. Of the AG's Office to file a complaint when I get back from vacation.

Answer: Wow. This is one bad company. Made a reservation and then needed to cancel. They gave cancel date all along. I called to cancel on that date and was told that date was only for 1 minute of date they told me. I was supposed to forfeit one night's cost. Luckily I made reservation on AMEX and they'll tell this fraud company to get lost. Moral of the story: make reservations through hotel.
