I am a big super hero fanatic and this is where I go to get the latest news, gossip, reviews, clips, and so on about anything super hero. I've been following Iron Man 2, Transformers 3, the new X-Men and Spiderman movies on here. I love it!
Although the site has plenty of new news stories, it doesn't exactly stay up to speed on certain things. I find thousands of comic book news articles on comicbookmovie.com that contain new information that cannot be found on superherohype.com.
Answer: I couldn't help but notice that the majority of "superheroes" these days don't have superpowers. So I took a look at the Wikipedia page, and it seems the consensus is that they aren't necessarily a prerequisite; a "costumed character" who isn't endowed with any superhuman powers can be a superhero, as can "an exceptionally skillful or successful person". But surely, a superhero should at least be superheroic, even if no special abilities are required? Again according to Wikipedia, a hero is someone who, "in the face of danger and adversity or from a position of weakness, displays courage and the will for self sacrifice – that is, heroism – for some greater good of all humanity, originally of martial courage or excellence but extended to more general moral excellence." So, by that definition, out of all the recent "superhero" movies, were there any heroes at all? I don't see any, offhand, but what do you think?
